It’s our great pleasure to personally invite you to our 4-day ICEBS Seminar about management research on organizational wrongdoing by and with
Professor Don Lange, PhD, Professor & Lincoln Professor of Management Ethics, W. P. Carey School of Business, Management and Entrepreneurship, Arizona State University.
from February 20 (9am) to February 23 (1pm), 2024, (HK 16, Raum 117) at the University of Passau.
The (post)doctoral-level seminar will be especially valuable for scholars of organizations and management, but also might be attractive to scholars from other disciplines who seek to draw on this research in the spirit of cross-disciplinary pollination and collaboration. In this seminar we will review research in management and business ethics, with a specific focus on the topic of organizational wrongdoing. We will address a mix of theoretical and empirical contributions. Participants will become familiar with some of the basic assumptions, concepts, theories, and findings in management and business ethics pertaining to organizational wrongdoing.
The seminar will conclude with each participant giving a Pecha Kucha style presentation of their own research idea. The idea could be one developed from the content of this seminar. Or it could be based an ongoing research project incorporated with ideas learned in the seminar.
Donald Lange—who is also DFG Mercator Fellow at the Research Training Group Digital Platform Ecosystems at the University of Passau—is an internationally renowned scholar on the topics discussed in the seminar, particularly bad behavior within organizations, corporate social (ir)responsibility, organizational reputation, and stakeholder strategy. He joined the W. P. Carey School of Business in 2006 after receiving his Ph.D. in Management from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. His published work appears in top academic journals including Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Personnel Psychology, and Strategic Management Journal. Professor Lange is a past associate editor at Academy of Management Review. His most recent article (with E.T. Paik, T.G. Pollock, S. Boivie, and P.M. Lee), titled “A Star Is Born: The Relationship Between Performance and Achieving Status Through Certification Contests in the Context of Equity Analysts” is published in Organization Science.
