What degrees qualify me for a doctorate in the research training group?
A Master's degree in one of the disciplines covered by the RTG, i.e. business information systems, economics, business administration, communication science or related courses of study, qualifies for a doctorate in the Research Training Group "Digital Platform Ecosystems".
Do I need to have already completed my master's degree in order to apply?
At the time of employment (beginning of October 2022), applicants must have obtained a Master's degree. In some cases, applicants may start their research at the Research Training Group without a university master's degree and submit their certificate later. If you do not expect to have a degree by October, please indicate this in the cover letter of your application, and we will discuss further options.
How are the positions in the Research Training Group remunerated?
In the Research Training Group, we offer DFG-funded positions, remunerated according to pay group 13 of the TV-L. The positions are limited to three years. According to the funding regulations of the DFG, positions within the discipline of information systems are remunerated with 100%, while positions associated mainly with the other disciplines of the Research Training Group are remunerated with 75%.
At the time of application, I have not yet completed my master's thesis. What can I do?
Please include another writing sample (working paper, seminar paper, research report, etc.) in your application. Make sure that the paper you submit will give the selection committee an insight into your methodological and content-related knowledge, as well as your writing style.
I am not allowed to pass on my master thesis to third parties. What can I do?
Please include another writing sample (seminar paper, working paper etc.), and, if possible, the abstract of your master thesis in the application. You can explain your choice of documents in the cover letter.
